I will not stop writing about the events that happened on September 11, 2001. Last year I wrote from my heart and even gave out a freebie for listening to my words. Imagine my horror to get email after email saying "who cares", "so what" and many other hateful words. I never in my life thought I would hear such negative words towards something that is so dear to not just myself but many Americans and even other citizens of other countries around the world!
This year marks the tenth anniversary of the day the world stood still, clenching on to the news coming from the radios, television and internet. Many couldn't get through to their families as the phone lines were clogged with callers. Parents were picking their children up from school in fear that another terrorist attack would happen. People, who never knew each other, held on tight and prayed together as a family asking God to watch over those people affected in the attacks as well as the rest of the country.
I will not forget that morning, waking to my newborn baby, feeding her while watching the morning news as the events unfolded. I had turned the tv on just minutes after they started airing the information, watching it over and over again thinking "this must be a mistake, not on our soil" But then hearing the news media saying it was a terrorist attack made me second-guess my thoughts and trust in the media. A little bit later watching as the second plane crashed in to the second tower, wondering what those people were thinking the last few minutes of their lives, crying for their families as they watched their loved one crash into a building that held thousands of many other people! The heartache that I felt, the sadness was overwhelming.
I will never forget and neither should you. When you forget or pass on what happened that day, the deaths of all those people were in vain and the terrorist won their victory; just a few years later.
I was looking through a box of photos earlier this week, when I stumbled across photos from a visit to New York when I was a teenager. As I looked at the photos, I remembered that day like it was yesterday; my father telling me "see those towers over there? They are special, they are identical twins" That was the first and last time I ever saw the towers. When I was looking at the photos, I told my girls about my visit to New York with my parents, how when we go back we'll never see them again. Its sad to think of a piece in history, gone forever.
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is asking all Americans to observe a moment of silence at 1 p.m. Eastern time to remember the victims of the 9/11 attacks. Americans are asked to "cease all regular activity for one minute to reflect on the lives lost and those affected by the tragedies of 9/11."
On Friday, I was driving in the car and the country radio station played a song that left me in tears of sadness, remembrance for those who lost their lives, as well as the message of the song ringing through my heart that I need to be diligent in telling others about God.
Listen to this song with an open heart, take heed to the words:
On our news and radio, everyone has been asking "what are you going to do to pass the hope?" For a limited time being, I am passing the hope of our freedom with our Patriotic Pride, that every single American needs to have!

Thank you so much for this post. I want to let you know that I posted a link to your blog in CBH Digital Scrapbooking Freebies, under the Page 4 post on Sep. 12, 2011. Thanks again.
Thank you so much for this gorgeous gift.
Thank you for your comments. I agree with you and I think it's always important to remember.
Thanks also for the kit. It's fantastic. :)
It is a beautiful kit and much appreciated as well. I feel as you do about 911. I cried most of the day yesterday. It is too much to bear...just the thoughts and I did not lose anyone, so I cannot imagine having lost someone on that day. My son enters the USMC on November 14 this year. I have been trying to save any patriotic themed kits I come across in preparation for scrapping his American journey, I thank you and will use this kit with joy.
thank you so much for the beautiful kit and for the music video of that song (we heard it on our way home from Church yesterday- very touching!) I hope we always remember, and never forget all that happened on 9-11 and the days following. Those families and friends who lost loved ones. I may not have known anyone who lost someone, but we were ALL affected!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feelings. I could never express my self like you did but the people who said who cares are wrong to try to stifle you. I hope all the messages giving you support make up for some idiots.
Thanks also for the kit.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Such a tragic time in American history I don't think anyone will ever forget. Also, thank you for the beautiful kit.
You are so right, we should always remember, and I know I always will, I am one of the people who lost a daughter in Iraq who was fighting for our country, and I still miss her terribly and always will.....Thank you for reminding us how important it is to keep this in our minds and hearts, and always keep a prayer for those no longer with us......
Diana, I am truly sorry for the loss of your daughter, that is a sacrifice that is so unbearable I cannot imagine the pain and suffering you through daily. Thank you for your daughter's sacrific, the sacrifice of your family for our country, its freedom. Your daughter will never be forgotten ((hugs)) as our family prays for those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our family. God bless your family
Beautiful kit, thanks so much. Never forget...
Wendy you are so right about the need for us to not forget! And I am sorry that some people said those hateful words to you! That is just awful! The entire time I was watching the events unfold I just kept thinking about all the families affected. And I kept thinking if this had only been a few yrs early my great aunt would of been in one of the offices hit in the pentagon. I truely believe this is like the event where everyone always remembers where they were when they heard about JFK...this is our JFK event.
Thank you so much for a beautiful kit in memory of an event we shall never forget.
Thank you for the wonderful kit. It has been ten years but 9/11 still feels like a punch in the gut. I will never forget.
Thank you so much for the kit and for what you wrote.
