Sketch Challenge Layouts

During the DSD weekend, I noticed at midnight, Sweet Shoppe Designs Facebook page would post a 24-house sketch challenge, for a chance to win $15.00.  Seeing as they were usually posted around 10pm, my time, I had plenty of time to scrap late at night, rather than during the daytime.
I am excited that I scrapped all three sketch-challenges and I really love how the layouts turned out!
So if you were counting, I did thirteen layouts for the DSD Bingo Challenge and 3 layouts for the Sketch Challenge, bringing my total to 16 layouts completed from Saturday morning through Monday evening.  Like I said, I don't think I've ever scrapped that many layouts in such a short timeframe!  Now to hunker down and do something off my computer for a day or two to give my fingers and hands a break from the computer!

Well that is about all I have for you today.
Just a few layouts, but a whole lot of beauty for my album!

Day Three

I really milked Day Three of scrapping.  I had a lot to do, a lot of catching up and the biggest thing to do was homeschooling.  While I love to scrap and design, my children are number one.  I spent a good portion of my day homeschooling my children.  I really only homeschool the middle, where I follow the state's guidelines of homeschooling.  However I work on pre-school with my three-year old.  He's so hit or miss, but he's learning!  Just today he showed me the letter "N" and was picking out all the "R"'s in a sentence.
I've officially completed all twelve layouts required to put your name in for the $100.00 gift card to Sweet Shoppe.  I'm really hoping my name is picked because I have a ton of things in my wishlist that I'd love to clear out and scrap in my future layouts.  If not, I love my layouts that I've created this weekend and am glad that I sat down and scrapped.  It's been a while since I scrapped a dozen layouts in 72-hours!

And if you are counting thirteen layouts, that's because I goofed on one of the layouts and told Libby that I would do it correctly, even though she said it wasn't necessary.  If I win, I wanted to make sure I won fair and square without cheating.  I just wanted to do it right, so the last two were the ones that I goofed up and the replacement for the goof!!
Whew, that was a lot of layouts!
What did you scrap this weekend?

Day Two

Whew, I'm starting to get tired from all this scrapping, but I'm almost done!
Just two more layouts to scrap tomorrow (Monday) and I'll be good to go to enter my name for the $100.00 gift card raffle to Sweet Shoppe Designs.  *fingers crossed*
Here's what I scrapped today, which isn't bad seeing as we were at church all morning and then came home to lunch.  It was after two when I sat down to scrap today and I never thought I would complete what I did, but somehow it happened!!

Only a couple more layouts and I'll have completed the Expert DSD Bingo Challenge.  I cannot wait until the challenge is done, but I'm having fun scrapping and just enjoying the whole festivities of DSD weekend!  What are you doing?

DSD Weekend = A LOT of layouts

This is the first of many years that I've been available during Digital Scrapbooking Day weekend.  I was able to look at the sales, not do a lot of shopping since the budget is tight with us just buying a home, but participate in a lot of games in hopes to earn free product along the way.
Then I found the best deal, scrap 12-layouts and be entered in a drawing for a $100.00 gift card to their store.  While I know I have horrible, that might be understatement, luck and I won't win, it was still worth it to give it a try.  By the end of the weekend, I'll have put my name in the pot for a $25, $50 and $100 dollar gift card to their store as well as entered three sketch challenges for a $15.00 gift card.  *fingers crossed* It's been a while since I've been able to purchase new products and I'm starting to use a lot of the same products from my current stash! It's time to add to the stash!
Let me share with you the layouts that I made during Saturday:

Whew, that was a lot for only scrapping a few hours today!
I can't wait to show you the rest of the layouts that I've scrapped this weekend!

Happy October

I'm back a day later with new releases!  Say what?!  How awesome is that!  Not only is Neverland Scraps store 50% off but I have a new buffet collection for you too!!
This month's color swatch had me inspired by Disney and the sunset/sunrise at the park. It's such a magical vacation already, but once the sun starts going down, the lights, the beauty and the fireworks that follow are magical!  I was truly inspired by Disney and created Let the Magic Begin

I'm also excited to share that during this introductory week, you will be able to pick up the entire collection in this bundle purchase for the same price if you were to add each product to your cart.  Like I said, this price is introductory and will not be marked this low ever again!

Isn't that a beautiful collection?
I'm in love with it and love the layouts that I have seen created with this collection!

Leaving a Legacy

This Sunday is Grandparents Day.  This is the first year that I am not able to celebrate Grandparents Day as my last living grandmother passed away the end of last year.   While this is a Hallmark holiday, it got me thinking about my grandparents.  What do I really know about them?  How did they meet?  What was it like growing up during the Great Depression or living through Korea, even Vietnam with their children going off to war?  I don't know these answers.  I know some of them, but I wish I knew more.  As I sat down, thinking about my grandmother, missing her, I was inspired to create a kit that you can use about leaving your legacy behind.  I'm not big on vintage, I struggle with it.  But Legacy was my attempt of vintage--or maybe it was just my way of honoring my grandparents who are no longer with us.
If you are a member of Neverland Scraps Facebook Group, check the group because there's a coupon to pick up Legacy {journal cards} for free, but only for a limited time!

Where Were You?

Every year I get older and every year my memory fades.  Every year I tell myself I am going to journal about my feelings and thoughts from the horrific attack America suffered on September 11th.  I was a new mother; my daughter was just 29-days old.  I remember holding her and crying as I watched the towers collapse.  I remember there being no cell service and the news telling people to stay off the phones so that loved ones can reach out to their friends/family at the location of the attacks.  I remember thinking, "Why New York? Why the Pentagon?  Why a field in Pennsylvania?"  On September 11th, I lost my innocence in this world and I knew fear, pain and suffering.  While I don't fully understand the meaning behind the attacks, I understand what it felt to hurt and to suffer with those you don't know.  I understand what it's like to pray with a complete stranger who was crying in the streets that they couldn't get a hold of their loved one.  That day has changed me, just like it changed millions across America and around the world!
Because of my desire to journal my thoughts, leave my story behind to my children, grand-children, etc instead of them reading about the attacks in history books, I decided to create a mini that I could use to journal/scrap my feelings.  One thing lead to another and Where Were You was formed in to a collection that was too good to keep to myself.  Instead, I decided to upload it to my store so that others can journal their thoughts and feelings, leaving their story behind for future generations to read and learn through our first-hand experiences.
Here are just a few ways that myself and a few others have used Where Were You to document their thoughts and feelings from that horrific attack on America
Where were you on that September day?

Happy September!

Who loves coffee?  If you are anything like my husband, you like the fancier flavors of coffee.  His favorite are Pecan Praline and Mudslide from Green Mountain.  A few years ago I was able to get him our very first Keurig coffee maker for him to enjoy his single-serve coffees.  Sadly in 2015 we had to sell our Keurig because we were storing our household goods for a year while he was stationed overseas.  However one of the first things we did when we moved to our new duty station was use our Keurig points to purchase a brand new, upgraded Keurig!
This month, I immediately thought of coffee when I saw the color swatches, thus Coffee Shop was created.  My oldest, who is a Starbucks fanatic (she likes the secret menu Fraps) was giving me ideas and inspiration since I do not care for coffee, not even the smell of coffee!  If only my husband could have created this collection as I know it would have been easier for him!!
**click on preview to go to the store**

Coffee Shop will be 50% off from Sept 1 - Sept 5, so make sure you pick up the pieces that you want before the sale is gone!  Remember my portions will be able to be used with the other GingerScraps designers as we all used the same color swatch!  That's the beauty of the buffets, you can mix-n-match products from one designer to another!  Enjoy Coffee Shop collection!
